Defining my future

I’ve been researching and studying a particular topic the past week or so. I’ve researched and studied so much, my head hurts. What am I studying?

Being successful with my own business on the internet.

2006 is the year of change for me, moving forward into personal and financial success. I’m focused and determined to succeed. There aren’t any other options. I’m almost 40, with few assets and high hopes for the future. The only way to make those hopes a reality is to actually do something about them.

Deidre and I have been moving forward on the vision of a spiritual centre. She’s been to the bank, investigating a business loan and the requirements thereof. We’ve also come up with the idea of business mentoring, and have approached an ex-CEO she knows, who we’re meeting with next week to discuss his mentoring of us. It’s helpful that he’s spiritual as well. I’ve bought the domain for the website, and will be building that over the next few weeks.

At the same time as we’re working on that, I’m also working on developing various alternative income streams, to help supplement our income as we move forward with our business idea. I want us to be in a position where we just don’t need a business loan because we’ve got plenty of money coming in. I’m working on it. 🙂

There’s a well known understanding that if you commit to something, you’ll make it work. It might take time, but it will work if you don’t let yourself be distracted or discouraged. I’m following that understanding.

Something I read today is quite interesting as well. Follow the militaryy principles of ‘overkill’ by devoting far more effort and resources to the task than you probably need. You can never be sure that ‘what you need’ will be enough, but if you commit to overkilling your objective, you are likely to get it faster and more efficiently than if you don’t.

It’s all going to be part of our plan. I want to be in a position where I don’t need to continue working my job by May, and increasing the success from there. That’s only 3-4 months away, which is why every spare moment since getting back from my holiday has been devoted to increasing my knowledge and resources, which is increasing my options for building success. More details as they occur.
